The oud is an ancient, fretless, short necked string instrument. There is a remarkable gallery of ornate ouds from many nations at the Musical Instrument Museum (USA), a place all music lovers should see if possible. Oud expert George Mgrdichian, also known as Aram Arakelian, brought the oud outside of traditional music and into jazz in America. This is an album of his performances of lovely traditional oud music.
I am Idek Idehen, a musician and avid listener. Like my father before me, music is my life. Every day, I practice music, revisit known music and listen to unknown music.
