Glenn Yarbrough – Let Me Choose Life

,

Glenn Yarbrough’s voice always reminds me of the 1977 Rankin-Bass animated film of The Hobbit in which he was the balladeer. This flower child album of chamber pop is not so different from those songs to my ears. This collection features songs by some big names of 1960s folk pop, including Laura Nyro, Kenny Rankin, Paul Williams, Pete Seeger, Malvina Reynolds (“Little Boxes”), and this tune by Hoyt Axton.

I am Idek Idehen, a musician and avid listener. Like my father before me, music is my life. Every day, I practice music, revisit known music and listen to unknown music. Some days, I share those things with friends. Here are some of the recordings I think they might enjoy. Maybe you will enjoy them, too.

Gratitude: WordPress.com for this site. Hosts of recordings across the web. All the help and enthusiasm from you friends.
